Joe Hermes, MA, LAC

Joe received his Master’s in Addiction Counseling degree from the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies in 2012 and his Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Minnesota Duluth. His clinical experience began working at Wilderness Treatment Center (WTC) in 2012, a 60-day residential treatment center for young men struggling with addiction. At WTC,  Joe gained extensive experience helping young men recover from addiction and helping families recover from codependency. In 2018,  Joe continued working as an Addiction Counselor in Grand Junction,  Colorado at Mesa County Community Corrections in a 90-day Intensive Residential Treatment Center. Working in corrections was an opportunity to help those who often have no support in their home. From 2019 to the present Joe has been counseling at a private 9-12 month addiction treatment center for adult men in Carbondale, Colorado.

Joe believes that recovery from addiction happens when someone has the courage to honestly and vulnerably open up and allow their authentic self to be seen. His goal throughout counseling is to hold the space for this to happen and be an integral piece of this transformative process. He believes the goal of recovery is to live a life of joy, abundance, and meaning

Joe enjoys spending his free time skiing in the winter, hiking in the summer, and any time with his wife.
